Terms of Use
In short: Latris is a free, early-stage service, provided as is. Your models are yours. Latris helps you structure reasoning; it doesn't make your decisions, and its outputs aren't professional advice. Keep your own copies of anything important.
These terms apply when you use the Latris app (app.latris.app), the Latris connector for AI chat apps (mcp.latris.app), report links, and the website (together, the Service). The Service is provided by Shannon Bengtson (ABN 98 855 839 418), a sole trader who operates Latris ("Latris", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you use the Service for an organisation, you confirm you're allowed to agree on its behalf.
The open-source latris Python library is licensed separately under the Apache License 2.0. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under that licence.
1. Your account
Anyone 16 or older can create an account. Keep access to your email secure, because that's how you sign in. You're responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has accessed it.
2. An early, free service
Latris is currently free and in active development. Features may change, be limited, or be removed, and the Service may sometimes be unavailable. We don't commit to any particular uptime or support. If we introduce paid plans, we'll tell you first, and nothing you already have will start costing money without your agreement.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of the models, evidence, notes and other material you put into the Service (your content). You give us permission to store, copy, process and display your content only as needed to run the Service for you. That includes showing it to the people you share it with and at any report links you create.
You're responsible for your content. In particular, you confirm that you have the right to use and share it, and that it doesn't include confidential or personal information you aren't allowed to share. Remember that anyone with a report link can view that report.
Keep your own copies. We take care with your data but don't guarantee backups. Unsaved models created through the connector are deleted 30 days after their last change, as described in our Privacy Notice.
4. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, harmful, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- try to access accounts, models or systems you're not authorised to access, or test, probe or bypass our security (if you find a security issue, please tell us at [email protected]);
- overload or disrupt the Service, or access it by automated means at a scale beyond normal use (using an AI chat app or agent through the connector, as intended, is fine);
- copy, resell or reverse-engineer the hosted app, except as the law allows. This doesn't restrict the open-source library.
5. Not professional advice
Latris helps you build and examine models of how things connect, and it can produce reports and analysis from them. Outputs depend entirely on the models and evidence put in. They aren't professional, financial, legal, engineering, medical or other advice. You're responsible for checking outputs and for any decisions you or others make using them. Content suggested by AI tools you use alongside Latris can be wrong, so review it before relying on it.
6. No warranty
To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We don't promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or fit for a particular purpose.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, that you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that can't lawfully be excluded. Where our liability for a breach of such a guarantee can lawfully be limited, it's limited, at our option, to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we're not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, business or goodwill, arising from or connected with the Service or these terms;
- our total liability arising from or connected with the Service or these terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, and A$100.
8. Ending things
You can stop using the Service at any time. To close your account and delete its data, email [email protected]. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or puts the Service or other users at risk. We may also discontinue the Service, and if we do we'll give reasonable notice where we can, so you can take copies of your models.
9. Privacy
How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Notice.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service evolves. We'll change the date above, and for significant changes we'll let account holders know by email. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
